“Comment Policy”

“Comment Policy” for your page to ensure that discussions stay respectful and focused on these technical issues.

Maintaining a focused, professional digital presence is key to establishing your “Technical Brain” brand. By setting clear boundaries, you signal to voters that you prioritize data and civil discourse over political noise.

Here is a draft you can post on your “About” page or as a Note on Facebook.

Community Engagement & Comment Policy

Welcome to the official campaign page for [Your Name]. This space is dedicated to discussing the future of Prince Edward County, with a focus on fiscal accountability, infrastructure solutions, and transparent governance.

To ensure our discussions remain productive and accessible for all residents, I ask that all participants adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Focus on the “What,” Not the “Who”

Our goal is to solve the $131M debt crisis and fix our roads. We welcome vigorous debate on policy, budgets, and technical solutions. We do not permit personal attacks, name-calling, or harassment directed at residents, municipal staff, or other candidates.

2. Fact-Based Dialogue

I am running to bring a “Technical Brain” to Shire Hall. If you disagree with a figure or a proposal, please bring your data to the table! Misinformation or unverified rumors that distract from the core issues may be removed to keep the conversation grounded in reality.

3. Respectful Tone

Constructive criticism is the lifeblood of democracy. You don’t have to agree with me, but I ask that you express your views with civility. Profanity, hate speech, or demeaning language will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate hide or deletion of the comment.

4. Independence & Transparency

In the interest of unbiased governance, this page will not be used to promote special interest groups or third-party advocacy agendas. Comments that serve as commercial advertisements or strictly promote non-municipal political affiliations will be removed.

5. Moderation Policy

I value your input and aim to respond to technical inquiries within 48 hours. Please note that this page is moderated. While I rarely delete comments, I reserve the right to hide or remove posts that violate the terms above or block repeat offenders to maintain a safe and focused environment for all PEC taxpayers.

Let’s keep the focus on the numbers and the solutions. Thank you for being part of the conversation.

Implementation Tip:

Add a shortened version of this to your Instagram Bio or as a pinned comment on high-traffic posts:

“Welcome! We discuss data and policy here. Please keep comments respectful and focused on County technical issues. See my ‘About’ section for the full Comment Policy.”
